What is Polyfoam?
Polyurethane foam (polyfoam) is a foam product made from complex chemicals and is constructed similarly to memory foam. Polyfoam is most often found in mattresses, furniture upholstery, vehicle interiors, and of course, rope products! When made into a rope, polyfoam offers a sturdy yet flexible foam that offers total buoyancy in both fresh and saltwater and is coated or wrapped in a stronger material that complements its natural flexibility as polypropylene.
SGT KNOTS Polyfoam Floating Rope
SGT KNOTS carries a great selection of floating rope for everything from boating, fly-fishing, camping, backpacking, and anywhere else you need a water-resistant rope. Our Polyfoam Floating Rope is a lightweight and affordable floating rope option designed for the water but can also be used on land in various ways. It is a perfect net building material and the go-to-choice for commercial, crab, and lobster fisherman.
For superior moisture protection and long-lasting performance, we wrap the polyfoam core in a monofilament polypropylene shell since the polypropylene fibers are naturally resistant to moisture, mold, mildew, and rot. Unlike natural fibers, polyfoam rope will not lose strength or flexibility in the water. Best of all, polyfoam rope is an affordable rope option compared to other synthetic materials like polyester and nylon.
Our Polyfoam Floating Rope is available in 3/8”, 1/2,” and 5/8” diameters, 50’, 100’, and 600’ lengths, and a black with blue tracer color.
