Dacron Polyester Rope
Clear recently viewed
PolyDacron rope is one of the highest quality forms of Polyester fiber available, made exclusively by DuPont. An excellent utility rope for camping, crafting, work projects, DIY, and more!
Dacron Polyester properties include high tensile strength, high resistance to stretching, when both wet and dry, and good resistance to degradation by chemical bleaches and to abrasion. Dacron is a registered trade name for a polyester fiber made by DuPont. Dacron is especially known for its durability, consistency, and quality. Unlike natural fibers, Dacron is hypoallergenic, non-absorbent, and mildew-resistant.
For braided rope with a core, polypropylene is often integrated with Dacron. Dacron provides the strength in the outer braid, while polypropylene provides a lightweight core and additional strength. Using polypropylene for the rope core reduces weight and as a result cost since it makes the rope lighter. Source
Uses: Dacron Polyester rope is popular for a wide variety of marine uses including general boating, commercial fishing, mooring and tow lines due to its water-resistant nature. It is also commonly used for tent ropes, guy lines, scaffolding, climbing rope and tree work.
