What is ProManila Rope?

Also known as “UnManila rope,” ProManila rope is a stronger and lighter alternative to natural Manila rope.  The polypropylene yarns used to make the ProManila rope are of the highest strength, quality, and flexibility that can easily hold and release knots, making it a perfect roping product for land or sea.

ProManila VS Manila Rope

There are several differences between ProManila and natural Manila rope, starting with the materials from which they are made.  Manila is made from Abaca fibers, a plant closely related to the Banana plant and native to the Philippines.  ProManila, on the other hand, is a man-made polypropylene rope. ProManila rope’s synthetic fibers make it impervious to rot, mildew, mold, UV light, water, and sinking.  Manila rope absorbs water, sinks in water, and is only resistant to UV light.  Both offer low stretch and are constructed with a twist construction.  Manila is an excellent rope product for indoor crafting projects and uses, while ProManila shines in outdoor and indoor applications.
