About Notch Equipment

Notch Equipment high-performance products allow arborists to work safely and efficiently, whether on a job site or in the canopy. Portawraps

Notch tree gear, including Portawraps, are compact rope friction devices designed by Notch arborist Scott Prophett in the 1990s. They're reliable tools for safely and efficiently lowering heavy loads during rigging operations.

Throwlines

Notch makes many types of throwlines, including the Acculine series. This Arborist Rope is made of Dyneema®, a polyethylene fiber known for its strength, lightweight and low-stretch properties. They’re also coated with urethane to increase abrasion resistance, and designed with bright colors for high visibility. The fibers comprising Acculines may have a diameter of 1.75 mm or 2.2 mm, with lengths of 180 feet and 1,000 feet.
