Polyester is a synthetic fiber that provides less elasticity than nylon but is otherwise very similar. It is resistant to moisture and unaffected by oil, grease, and most other chemicals. Polyester fibers are virtually immune to rot, decay, and chemical-based weakening. It doesn’t shrink after getting wet, and temperature has little impact on its flexibility.
Twisted Polyester Ropes also have non-elastic properties superior to most other ropes. With high resistance to stretching and distortion, polyester rope stays taut and can be tied, re-tied, and tied yet again.
Uses: The properties of polyester fibers make this a good choice when stretching is not desired. Lifting slings work great with polyester rope because it is highly resistant to abrasion, harmful UV lights, as well as heat.
