Climb Safely with Today’s Best Sport Climbing Gear

In recent years, sport climbing has grown increasingly popular. Individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds are starting to discover the thrills of sport climbing and the intensity you get when looking at the world from a vertical face.

However, to do this sport correctly, you need quite a bit of gear just to get started. At SGT KNOTS, our mission is to be your one-stop shop for all of your sport climbing equipment, from the ropes to the carabiners to the pulleys to even the shoes that work best—and always from the most Trusted Brands in the industry, like ARMBURY, Tendon, Rock Exotica, Kong, and others.

With such a wide assortment of climbing products, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. Fortunately, our sales team can help you figure out what you need so you're ready to climb, no matter what experience level you're at.

The Best Sport Climbing Ropes

There are two primary types of climbing ropes to choose from—dynamic and static. Dynamic Ropes have some elasticity, meaning they can absorb some of the impact of a fall if you lose your grip. If you're using a single rope system, you'll want a dynamic option, just in case the worst happens.

Static Ropes are best for specific information, such as raising or lowering equipment (or an injured climber). Since you don't want the rope bouncing and bobbing, static ropes are ideal.

We offer a wide selection of static and dynamic ropes in different lengths and thicknesses. We also sell Prusiks, throw lines, Lanyards and other Arborist Gear if you're into tree climbing.

Essential Sport Climbing Equipment

If you're just getting started in this sport, you need to know which equipment is essential and which pieces are unnecessary. For our money, we recommend the following basics:

The exact number of each item can vary, depending on how far you're climbing. For example, if you're just scaling a small rock wall, you don't need as many anchor points or quickdraws. However, if you're going high up, you need to determine how many of each item will keep you safe.
