The burly sheath is made with SBS technology, which lays down the sheath fibers flat so they run smooth over gear and terrain. This keeps edges and crystals from snagging the rope and creating fuzz and tears. In the event that the sheath is cut, the Tendon Secure technology will keep the sheath from sliding down the core and causing injury.
Even when the sheath is completely torn, the secure sleeve will prevent the sheath from milking its way down the core. A great piece of mind to have when jugging countless pitches. The 10.2 size may be fat by modern standards, but the handling is as good as most 9.7 ropes out there. It feeds great through belay devices and clips gear with ease.
