Quick Deploy Paracord Storage

Quick Deploy Paracord Storage

This Quick Deploy method of storing paracord can be used as a zipper pull or keychain faab on any gear you want to take with you on your journey.

The steps are laid out below in a single image so you can save it for later. You can also follow the youtube video here where we learned this method.  It only takes about a minute to construct and less than a second to deploy. This method is a slightly modified version of "hayanawa," or in English, a "fast rope" (cord bundle). It was the preferred method of carrying rope, used by the Samurai of feudal Japan. They hid them up their sleeves to quickly dispense rope when binding captives, preparing them for transport, centuries before handcuffs were invented.

Our example uses roughly 5ft of cord, but you can use any length you like.

Once you've practiced this a few times, you'll be able to deploy and rewrap your cord in about a minute.
