Manila is made from Abaca fibers, a plant closely related to the Banana plant and native to the Philippines. ProManila, on the other hand, is a man-made polypropylene rope. ProManila rope’s synthetic fibers make it impervious to rot, mildew, mold, water, and sinking. Manila rope absorbs water and sinks in water. Both offer low stretch and are constructed with a twist construction.
