ProManila VS Manila Rope

There are several differences between ProManila and natural Manila rope, starting with the materials from which they are made. Manila is made from Abaca fibers, a plant closely related to the Banana plant and native to the Philippines. ProManila, on the other hand, is a man-made polypropylene rope. ProManila rope’s synthetic fibers make it impervious to rot, mildew, mold, water, and sinking. Manila rope absorbs water and sinks in water. Both offer low stretch and are constructed with a twist construction. Manila is an excellent rope product for indoor crafting projects and uses, while ProManila shines in outdoor and indoor applications.

Types of ProManila Rope

Twisted UnManila Rope can be purchased in several diameters ranging from 1/4” to 2” and several lengths ranging from 25’ to 1200’!

2 inch Pro Manila rope

After using natural manila rope as a nautical fence with a very short lifespan, I am trying the Pro Manila 2 inch rope. The rope was easy to handle and looks really good. Only time will tell if it keeps it's great appearance. The fence consists of 13 pilings with the 230 ft of rope tied in a clove hitch on each piling. Looks great

Durable

I’ve been using the 3/8 and 1/4” for several years and when I started using the 5/16 which I prefer for my needs over the 3/8 for my craft items you go and discontinue it, Oh Well! Besides that one disappointment, the rope is extremely sturdy and durable and will continue to be using it. I cut the rope using my rope cutter/burner and this rope never disappoints as it holds up for years in all kinds of weather
